description:

The NPRC is multisport competition and training facility with a heavy focus on hospitality and events. Eric J Einhorn was the Lead Sports Architect responsible for the planning and concept design including developing the project program for the complex and court mix and surface recommendations.

The NPRC was designed to host national racquet and paddle sports events and tournaments.  The project includes a new 30,240 sf indoor tennis facility with 5 tennis hardcourts, and a 3,100 sf visitor center with locker rooms, pro shop, club room, concessions, kitchen, and storage.  Outdoors the site will have event gathering space, food truck picnic areas, and shade structures surrounding 11 tennis hardcourts, and 27 pickleball courts including 1 feature championship court on a site laid out to minimize the effects of prevailing winds and solar orientation while capitalizing on views of the Potomac River and Wharf District.
